"I came to Depaul House on April 4^th of 2009. Previously, I stayed at Ridge Shelter for 2 months.At Depaul House, I found people who genuinely wanted to help. I discovered trust with the counselors and began to see a change in myself. A new calm attitude transformed me. I started to listen to and appreciate others which is something new to me. By finally staying focused and positive, I was able to pursue my Associates Degree in Computer Science and join the military. Thankfully, I successfully accomplished both of these goals. I also reconnected with my daughter.It has been a learning process staying at Depaul House, but I try to stay positive and take it one day at a time. On June 9^th, an exciting new challenge awaits me. I am going to Oklahoma for Basic Training."
